For example, a Nissan Leaf has a battery that can accept around 50 kW of power, while the latest Tesla Model S Plaid can handle up to 250 kW.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a vehicle isn\u2019t compatible with the maximum output of the charger, it won\u2019t benefit from the station\u2019s full power. This is determined by the vehicle\u2019s battery management system, which ensures the battery absorbs power without overheating or being damaged. It\u2019s important for all EV drivers to know the acceptance rate of their vehicle, particularly those with a lower acceptance rate. Those with rates as low as 3 kW will only be able to accept 3 kW even at Level 2 or DC fast charging stations providing 19.2 kW of power.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another factor is battery size. Larger batteries, such as those in long-range EVs, will take longer to charge.
