Sustainability Meets Innovation at EV Charging Summit & Expo

Once the largest hotel in the world, the Westgate Las Vegas Resort is famous for being the home of Elvis Presley from 1969 to 1976. The King of Rock and Roll performed 636 sold-out shows at the venue and the street leading from the hotel to Las Vegas Boulevard now bears his name. While Elvis has left the building, the Westgate Las Vegas Resort now hosts a variety of notable events, including poker festivals, Barry Manilow’s lifetime residency, and most recently, the EV Charging Summit & Expo. Recognized as the largest infrastructure event for transportation electrification in North America, the ACDI Energy Services team had the pleasure of attending this year’s EV Charging Summit & Expo alongside representatives from across our authorized reseller network.

Growth & Momentum in the EV Charging Space

Featuring more than 5,000 attendees from 22 different countries, the EV Charging Summit & Expo is the only show that brings together all of the key players within the global charging infrastructure ecosystem across private and public sectors. With 40 new exhibitors at this year’s event, charging station manufacturers, software developers, universities & school districts, and government agencies were just some of the organizations represented, emphasizing the growing number of groups and individuals that are leading the charge for the next generation of infrastructure.

While the ACDI Energy Services team focused its attention on the expo floor, the event opened with a full day of pre-summit workshops on a variety of EV charging topics, including building a roadmap for fleet electrification, understanding electric capacity, and the political fight over electric vehicles and how America can overcome it. Given the size of the event and the palpable enthusiasm from exhibitors and attendees, it was clear for all to see that the EV revolution isn’t slowing down anytime soon. According to MarketWatch, more than 1.5 million electric vehicles were sold in the United States in 2024, a 21 percent increase from 2023.

New Technologies on Display

Spending a full day on the expo floor, the ACDI Energy Services team and our reseller partners in attendance had the opportunity to see and connect with some of the most notable names in the EV charging space, including EVStar, Monterra, and Fuser, among others. The robust expo also provided a setting for in-depth discussions with ACDI Energy Services OEM partners Autel Energy and Lincoln Electric. Our team relished the opportunity to learn more about new products and initiatives from the innovative titans that are primed to be industry leaders for the foreseeable future.

New technologies on display included Autel’s AC Pro, a revolutionary Level 2 charging station with the ultimate blend of power, technology, and cost efficiency. Operating at 19.2 kW AC with a maximum output of 80A, the AC Pro achieves 70-miles of range in just one hour of charging, ensuring efficient charging and quick turnaround. In addition to power, it also comes with the most advanced technology features, including ISO 15118 (plug and charge) capabilities. This feature allows drivers (once initially setup) to simply plug in the charger to their car and start charging without any other human intervention. The AC Pro was also designed with ease of maintenance in mind. Its design allows for straightforward access to the charger’s internal components with just four screws, facilitating tasks such as wiring, adjustments, or troubleshooting.

Continuing its foray into EV charging that began in late 2023, Lincoln Electric was also touting a powerful new device in the form of its Velion 50kW portable DC fast charger. The versatile, mobile solution delivers rapid charging to minimize EV downtime, while its compact, lightweight design ensures easy transport and installation. Built for durability with minimal maintenance, it’s scalable for different needs and user-friendly with plug-and-play operation making it an efficient solution for both temporary and permanent setups. While the EV charging space has experienced attrition in recent months, Lincoln Electric remains steadfast in its commitment and reliability as a 130-year-old American institution. The industry titan is the only manufacturer willing to bet on its reputation of quality with a 10-year warranty available on its products.

As the must-attend event for all things EV charging, the expo showcased real solutions, cost savings, and technological advances to infrastructure for all commercial and government organizations. The ACDI Energy Services team is already looking forward to seeing what’s in store for next year’s event. We can’t help falling in love with the EV Charging Summit & Expo. Viva Las Vegas!
